Tk20 Support

Tk20 logo

In the 2011-12 academic year, Northwest Nazarene University begins implementing the use of a web-based application called Tk20, an assessment and reporting system. Specifically, the Education and Counselor Education programs are using Tk20 in a variety of ways to help students succeed and to meet accreditation goals. These include:

  • Program-level assessments
  • Standards-based electronic portfolios
  • Tracking and management for field experience and clinical practice
  • Student application process and advisement
  • Data aggregation and document storage
  • Report generation

E-Learning Services is happy to provide assistance as we learn about this robust program. Note that Tk20 offers two similar products: HigherEd and CampusWide. NNU is licensing HigherEd.

How do I purchase a student Tk20 account?

The method for purchasing a Tk20 account will vary by academic program.

Counselor Education students

The department will automatically subscribe you to the program through an NNU Tk20 fee. This one-time subscription amount of $100 is assessed as a student fee and is non-refundable.

Education students

Undergraduate Students - The department will automatically subscribe you to the program through an NNU Tk20 fee. This one-time subscription amount of $100 is assessed as a student fee and is non-refundable.

Graduate Students - You will need to subscribe directly on the website and pay the $100 fee with a credit card. Please go to tk20.nnu.edu and click "Click here to purchase your account."  From there you will be prompted to enter payment information; note that Tk20 will also assess a $3 processing fee.  Please make sure you do this before coming to orientation.

ACE Students - The department will automatically subscribe you to the program through an NNU Tk20 fee. This one-time subscription amount of $100 is assessed as a student fee and is non-refundable. If you are in the last year of your Education program when we begin using Tk20 in the fall of 2011, your fee will be discounted to $65.

Please check with your departmental Tk20 contact if you have further questions about your fee.

What do I do if I have been told that I am eligible for a payment option that is not available on the online payment page?

If you have been notified of an alternate payment option, such as a reduced fee of $65, please communicate with your departmental Tk20 contact or Tk20 Unit Administrator to verify your eligibility.

Is it possible to get a refund?

Tk20 will offer refunds for student subscriptions as per the following policy:

  • For accounts completely unused within 30 days of purchase: Full refund.
  • For accounts unused between 31 days and 6 months from purchase date: 50% refund.
  • For accounts after 6 months from date of purchase: No refund, under any condition.

If you feel that you are eligible for a refund, please contact your Tk20 Unit Administrator and discuss the situation with her. If you are eligible for a refund, the Unit Administrator can contact Tk20 directly and initiate the refund process.

What is my Tk20 username and password?

Students, once your payment is received -- either by you subscribing or your program subscribing for you (see clarification above) -- the Tk20 system will generate an account for you.

  • Username - This will be the same as your NNU network username.
  • Password - Your initial password will be just your NNU ID number, e.g., 123456.

Instructors, your Tk20 login follows the same format as for students.

Cooperating Teachers, please see below.

Upon logging in, the system will prompt you to change your password to something more secure. Tk20 requires a combination of letters, numbers and special characters, much like your NNU network password.

If you have difficulty logging in, please contact E-Learning Services (elearning@nnu.edu or 208-467-8034).

How does my Cooperating Teacher/Supervisor log on to Tk20?

Generally, all Cooperating Teachers/Supervisors follow this format:

  • Username - First initial and last name followed by 0000, as in jsmith0000
  • Password - The Cooperating Teacher's NNU ID number

The above convention may not apply if the Cooperating Teacher is also a current student or adjunct at NNU (for instance, the teacher is in the Graduate Education program working on a Master's degree and also working with an undergraduate student).

Upon logging in, the system will prompt one to change the initial password to something more secure. Tk20 requires a combination of letters, numbers and special characters.

Difficulty logging in? Please contact E-Learning Services (elearning@nnu.edu or 208-467-8034).

How do I locate any pending assignments from my professors?

Assignments will appear in the Pending Tasks area of your Home tab. They are indicated by a red flag to the left of each pending task. Alternately, you can find pending coursework by clicking on the Courses tab > The course number > Activities sub tab.

How do I retrieve a forgotten password?

As long as you have already logged in at least once, use the "Forgot your username or password?" link found on the NNU Tk20 login page to be reminded of your password. If that doesn’t work, please contact your departmental Tk20 contact so s/he can reset your password.

What do I do if I have purchased/registered for my Tk20 my account online and I have not received my username/password?

Normally, it takes 2-3 business days to receive your activation information. Please ensure the email did not go to your junk mail folder. Activations can be delayed for a variety of reasons; the most common are entering your ID#, email address, or credit card information incorrectly. If you have not received your activation email after 4 days, please contact your departmental Tk20 contact.

What do I do if I am having trouble?

If you cannot log in, please contact E-Learning Services (elearning@nnu.edu or 208-467-8034).

If you do not see a Pending Task on your Home page, communicate with your departmental Tk20 contact.

If you are confused about how to complete a task in Tk20, please refer to the TK20 tip sheets or video tutorials above. If you do not understand the tip sheet or tutorial, you may contact E-Learning Services (elearning@nnu.edu or 208-467-8034).

What do I do if one of my courses does not appear in Tk20?

The Tk20 system is updated on a regular basis. If your course is not appearing now, it may appear in a few days. Please communicate with your departmental Tk20 contact if the issue persists.

What do I do if I submitted an assignment or binder before it was complete?

Some elements of Tk20 are meant for you to complete several forms or upload certain files, then click Submit when everything is ready for the instructor. If you inadvertently submit something before it is ready, you can Recall it.

If you inadvertently submitted a Field Experience Binder before it is ready, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Tk20.
  2. Click the Field Experience tab.
  3. Place a check next to the desired binder.
  4. Click Recall.

If you inadvertently submitted an Assignment before it is ready, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Tk20.
  2. Click the Courses tab.
  3. In the left-side navigation area, click Assignments.
  4. Place a check next to the desired assignment.
  5. Click Recall.
