Log in to Blackboard at NNU
See how to log in to Blackboard (5 mins.)

Logins for students in degree-seeking programs: Your NNU Blackboard account relies on your Novell username, which is some form of your name, and on your Novell password. The initial Novell password is the word "default" followed by your NNU ID number, e.g., default123456. Please use the Novell Password Management tool to change and manage your password.

Blackboard and Web 2.0

If you had to describe Web 2.0 in just a few words, you might include collaborative and interactive.

When the World Wide Web first began gaining popularity, we saw individuals create their own websites. The information was usually static and communication flowed in just one direction. Web 2.0 takes everything a step further, introducing two-way communication that is fairly fluid. Web 2.0 is social, and it's creative.

Some of the more common examples of Web 2.0 in action?

  • Book reviews on Amazon
  • Wall posts on Facebook
  • Encyclopedia entries on Wikipedia

In each example, we see people from all over the world contributing to what a web page includes.

Blogs and Wikis in Blackboard

In the 2008-09 academic year, NNU is piloting the use of Campus Pack, a collection of Web 2.0 applications that integrate into Blackboard. Campus Pack includes applications to incorporate wikis and blogs into Blackboard courses, as well as a way to search the entire content of a course. The vendor for Campus Pack is a company called Learning Objects.
