Make the Shift to NNU's Fully Online Master of Divinity Programs

Northwest Nazarene University's School of Theology & Christian Ministries is proud to be the first and only accredited institution in the Pacific Northwest to offer a fully online Master of Divinity degree.

Our Master of Divinity degree is designed to prepare men and women for congregational ministry, missions, ministry agencies, and a wide variety of chaplaincy applications. We seek to provide a depth of understanding in both theological and biblical studies in the student's context for ministry by providing opportunities for theological integration, spiritual formation, and ministry contextualization.

Ministry Benefits:

  • Enjoy the flexibility of a fully online Master of Divinity degree while remaining in your local ministry context;
  • Participate in a global learning community over the length of your program; the richness of learning with a cohort of other adult learners from a variety of locations, cultures, and denominations makes this a particularly enriching experience;
  • Enhance your ministry skills by learning from experienced professors and ministry practitioners in the field; and
  • Use your Master of Divinity degree to meet the educational requirements for those serving in chaplaincy ministries as well as those seeking to meet the educational requirements for ordination in the Church of the Nazarene.

Program Benefits:

  • Complete NNU's 75-credit Master of Divinity degree one course at a time in just four and half years;
  • Courses are either six or eight weeks long and are completed in our fully online learning environment with no residential requirements whatsoever;
  • Complete your Master of Divinity with an emphasis in either Missional Leadership, Spiritual Formation, or Christian Education;
  • Study under a gifted theological faculty with proven experience in online education at an institution accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, the same accrediting body that oversees the educational standards for the major educational institutions in the Pacific Northwest.

Financial Benefits:

  • Tuition discounts are available for assigned Nazarene clergy;
  • Avoid expensive travel costs associated with most modular Master of Divinity programs at other seminaries, not to mention costly time away from home and your workplace;
  • Federal financial aid is available for those who qualify; and
  • Interest-free monthly payment plans are also available.

Isn't it time you made the shift to online education by preparing for ministry in one of NNU's flexible, fully online learning communities? We look forward to answering your questions as you pursue God's leading about your preparation for ministry.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jay Akkerman
