Accreditation

NNU's graduate counseling programs are accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), a specialized accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), which is a requirement for licensure in many states. This summer, NNU's Adventure Play Therapy Center (Center) earned designation as an approved Center of Play Therapy Education by the Association for Play Therapy (APT).

Program Outcomes

In the 2012-2013 academic year Northwest Nazarene University graduated 45 students from the Counselor Education Master’s in Science program. Enrollment for the year was 164. Our graduates consistently achieve high pass rates on the comprehensive exam as well as the NCE for state licensing. Of program graduates responding to our departmental survey, 100% are employed.
