Counselor Education Department Graduate Program
The need for compassionate professionals who can guide individuals and families through a myriad of life challenges has never been greater. The Master of Science in Counseling program provides the highest ethical, diagnostic, and interpretive skills necessary to excel in this caring profession.
Late afternoon and evening classes are offered on the NNU campus to fit your schedule. The program is also delivered through weekend courses in Twin Falls, Idaho. All coursework and field component is based upon national standards.
A caring, competent faculty is available to assist students with career development. Many graduates become certified school counselors while others elect to apply for counseling licensure (LPC) in the state of Idaho.
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to become certified school counselors in the state of Idaho, accepting positions as elementary, middle/jr. high and high school counselors.
The marriage and family program prepares students to work with individuals, children, families, and couples in community, agency, and private practice settings.
Clinical counseling prepares students to work in community settings such as residential centers, mental health centers, churches, and drug and alcohol centers.
