La Gracia Center: Farmway Village, Caldwell Idaho

After School Tutoring Partner (Tier 3)

Farmway Village is the common name for the Caldwell Housing Authority just west of Caldwell near Interstate Highway 84.  It was used, in years past, to house Japanese interns and migrant workers. Today it is home to many Latino families who are first and second generation immigrants.  There are 1200 to 1400 residents.

The tutoring program is housed in building #79 which is primarily used by the Episcopal Church, La Gracia, for worship and programs.  The tutoring program is a joint effort between the church and Families First, a program of Health and Welfare.

Tutor Partners will assist grade-school and middle-school students to complete their homework and work on improving academic skills as needed on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5:00 p.m.

Copper Canyon, Mexico

Over the last couple of years we, the Rocky Mountain District of the Christian & Missionary Alliance, have been working in a very remote part of northern Mexico in partnership with the Mexico Christian & Missionary Alliance to bring the gospel to the Tarahumara people.  This ministry focuses on the remote sections of the Copper Canyon where access is limited. The Tarahumara are subsistence farmers and typically live in areas with no irrigation or running water of any sort, no electricity, and their children have very little if any access to education.

The Meeting Place: Cusco, Peru

The Meeting Place Cafe exists to reach out to the community of Cusco by giving all of their profits from the business to a handful of specific projects. The Cafe will be the hub of many more economically sustainable businesses as we grow and prosper.

The cafe is a cafe/restaurant which serves up a great taste of comfort in a delightful atmosphere that will put you right at home. We cater to those looking for a break from the normal food and dining here in Peru.

In addition to the cafe, every Sunday night at 5:00pm a diverse group of people from all around the world gather in Plazoleta San Blas to explore what it means to be a follower of Christ.  Believers, non-believers, doubters and those who are just curious, we invite you to join us. The setting is casual and laid-back.  You'll meet great people and hear a relevant message that will encourage and inspire you.
