PROJECT LEARNING TREE

Project Learning Tree (PLT) is an award-winning environmental education program designed for teachers and others working with school-aged youth.  Class participants learn about trees and forests, and how to use the extensive PLT Activity Guide to help students meet academic standards.  The aim to provide increased content knowledge about trees, forests and the total environment; understanding of the importance of teaching students how to think, rather than telling them what to think, about complex environmental issues; practical application of effective teaching skills; and the ability to use the PLT materials in the participant’s classroom or youth organization. Contact the Coordinator, Michelle Youngquist, at plt@idahoforests.org   to pre-register or for more information.  Registration for credit is done at the first session.  There is a Workshop fee plus $60 for credit.  Sessions are offered at various dates and  locations in Idaho.
