Christian Ministry Major
In the past, the church presumed that those who were exploring a call to ministry were destined to preach, ultimately serving as senior pastors of local churches.
NNU recognizes that God calls men and women to a wide variety of ministries, including pastoral ministry, but not limited only to it.
Today, our students are fortunate to be able to customize their response to a divine call by specializing in a variety of ministry areas. Our ministry areas prepare students well for a future in ministry, enabling our majors to focus on areas that include:
- Biblical Languages
- Children's Ministries
- Christian Education
- Pastoral Ministries
- Worship Leadership
- Youth Ministries
Student majoring in Christian Ministry take a ministry minor. Students outside majoring in other disciplines can take a ministry minor.
At NNU, we are committed to prepare students for meaningful ministry today in both the Church and parachurch organizations. We invite you to explore the ministry areas that interest you by clicking on the links shown on the left, then contact us for more information.
Intercultural Ministry (Missions) Major
The Bachelor of Arts: Intercultural Ministry (Missions) Major prepares students to minister in a global cross-cultural setting. It provides a wide range of foundational knowledge and skills with specific focus in a missional world view. The degree will help students work through the appropriate steps leading to appointment as missionaries by the Church of the Nazarene or other mission agencies.
The Intercultural Ministry major with a Christian Ministry minor meets the education requirements for ordination in the Church of the Nazarene. Also, students taking both the major and the minor are eligible to receive the ministerial scholarship program.
