Engineering at NNU
This is an exciting time to be involved in NNU’s engineering program. We have just moved into a new, state-of-the-art facility, with new laboratory, classroom and research areas. The O'Malley Electronics Lab contains everything you will need to learn electronics and instrumentation, as well as hands on experience in building circuits and programming in LabVIEW. The Fabrication Lab allows you to work in a machine shop that you can create and build new mechanical devices. We also have a new Dimension SST 1200es 3-D rapid prototyping printer that all our engineering students have access to. See the video below showing some of the things you can create with it!
NNU offers a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree with concentrations in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. It is a rigorous engineering course schedule that will prepare you to directly enter the workplace, take a professional license exam, or to attend graduate school.
In the last 15 years, all of our students have either been employed or accepted to graduate school, in almost every engineering field, after completing their degree. We are proud of this record and work very hard to preserve it.
Professors in our department work with you in the classrooms and labs, and emphasize hands-on learning. Our educational model, which is highly regarded by employers and graduate schools, requires you to complete a design project by the end of the first semester of your senior year. The project is then presented to the NNU faculty during your last semester. This is one of many ways you will gain beneficial professional experience.
We work closely with our students and develop relationships that last a lifetime. At NNU, you will always have access to the faculty for help and advice. Combine an excellent academic program with social activities in a Christian environment and you have a wonderful opportunity to prepare yourself for a successful and rewarding professional career.
