Bachelor of Science Nursing

We are so excited you’re interested in an education from Northwest Nazarene University's Department of Nursing. Our nursing graduates are sought by employers who recognize the superior quality of education these professionals receive. Clinicals in a variety of healthcare facilities throughout the Treasure Valley build on nursing theory learned in the classroom and allow students to gain valuable experience. Students also benefit from giving back to the community through involvement in NNU's chapter of the Student Nursing Association (SNA).

Learning opportunities are also available through international mission trips to places like Nicaragua, Ukraine and Peru. Putting new skills to practice allows students to gain experience while touching lives, stretching one's faith.

As a student interested in the nursing profession, you can rest assured there is job security in nursing. Our nursing program offers students the opportunity to prepare for areas such as acute care, cardiology, emergency, home care, hospice, obstetrics, oncology, pediatrics, and perioperative.

We wish you the best in your nursing program search process. If you have further questions about the NNU Professional Nursing Program, please feel free to contact us.

Accreditation

The NNU Nursing Program has held accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) since 2002, and the University is accredited by Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. Originally, diplomas were granted in the 1920s in alliance with the Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing. Later in 1974, NNU's nursing program continued its rich history of preparing individuals for the nursing profession while granting degrees in partnership with a local state school.
