Crusader Choir
Crusader Choir is the oldest and largest choral ensemble at NNU. The 48-voice mixed choir is open to all students, by audition. Performing in concert halls and churches, the choir’s repertoire includes choral classics, sacred music, and contemporary settings of Christian and secular music.
For more than 50 years this choir has performed literally around the world. Crusader Choir tours have included England, Scotland, Ireland, the Scandanavian countries, and both eastern and western European countries. Most recently they toured England and Scotland in the summer of 2008.
Fall 2008 concerts included appearing with the Boise Master Chorale and Orchestra in a performance of ______________________ and a Christmas performance of John Rutter’s “Magnificat” with orchestra. The choir sings regularly in NNU chapels, and in a variety of churches.
Dr. Barry Swanson, Chairman of the NNUMusic Department, is the director of the Crusader Choir. He has served at NNU for 18 years, following 20 years as a professional church musician in Arkansas, California, Oklahoma, and Idaho.
