An Idaho Family Christmas

"An Idaho Family Christmas"

Each fall, students of the Mass Comm program produce a 60 minute Christmas Special for KTVB, an NBC affiliate.  The show features musicians from around the state, as well as special guests such as the Governor and his wife.
90% of the work on the show is done by students.  Students produce the show, direct it, operate the cameras, work as key grip, A1's and A2's, run tape ops, etc.

An Idaho Family Christmas is a real television show with demanding creative and technical standards the students must meet.  It gives the students real-world experience in producing such a program, and in meeting real-world deadlines.  It also gives them real screen credit to put on a resume'.
The show typically airs in prime time before Christmas, and is repeated twelve to fifteen times throughout the Northwest states.

Dee Sarton of KTVB hosts the program, which is produced in the studios of Northwest Nazarene University.
