Academics: About the Major

The Mass Communications major is designed for people who would like to work in the field of media production in a creative and/or technical "behind the camera" role.  This would include producers, directors, camera operators, audio technicians, lighting directors, scriptwriters, editors and so forth.
The objective of the Mass Communications degree is to provide students with an understanding of the role that mass communication media play in contemporary society, and to prepare students to obtain employment in secular or Christian television, film, or corporate media settings. Students can also use their education and training for pursuing graduate study in communication and other fields.
The Mass Communications major includes a total of 49 semester credit hours.  There are four components in the total Mass Comm program:

Coursework: required classes for a Mass Comm degree

Crew Points:  Learning by doing

Screen Credits:  Leave college with cash in your pocket

Senior Project:  Your chance to show off your talent
