Jason Buttles, Biological Science BS
Attending Loma Linda Medical School
"I went to NNC because I was too lazy to apply to any other schools. I picked biology as my major one month before starting classes, and I chose that major on a whim. 'Biology was okay in high school, so I guess biology in college wouldn't be too bad,' I thought. Then I realized that almost every other biology major was pre-med, so like the sheep I was, I decided that medicine was the way to go."
"During my time at NNC, I learned the value of small class sizes, getting to really know the professors and late-night cramming before tests. I think NNC did a very good job of preparing me for medical school."

Attending Creighton University Doctor of Physical Therapy program
"I guess it wouldn't be hard to write about why I chose NNU. First of all, my sister went to NNU two years before I did. After getting to know some of her friends, going to some basketball games, the Fresheree and Mr. NNU events, I found NNU to be like a second family. I liked the friendly atmosphere and the personable professors. Once I discovered that NNU offered a degree in Pre-Physical therapy, I headed for NNU with my hometown friend Travis. We both enjoyed our time at NNU and participating in activities like Fresheree and Mr. NNU. We found Wednesday night Time-Out to be a great place for worship and fellowship with friends. I still miss my NNU friends, but now I'm going to one of the nation's finest physical therapy schools and I'm thankful for how God has blessed me."

Joel Sauder, Biological Science BS
Finished MS in zoology at Idaho State University and worked at the High Desert Ecological Research Institute as an ecologist in Bend, OR and currently works for Idaho Fish and Game as a Nongame Biologist in Lewiston, Idaho.
"I chose to attend NNU because it was the only Christian college in the Pacific Northwest who had professors doing active research in field biology (my area of interest). Being involved in research is a vital part of field biolgists' training because getting a job once you are out of school is half what you know and half who you know. The great thing about NNU is that not only can you take great classes from great professors, but that you can actually get involved in research in your area of interest and start making contacts out in the professional world. Field biology is a very competitive field; the variety of classes, the quality of the teaching and the ability to do original research at NNU are the reasons I was able to succeed in graduate school and move on to a great job."

Marijeanne Uhalde, Biological Science BS
Attending Washington State University Veterinary School in Pullman, WA.
"As a vet student and the last graduating class of NNC (now NNU), I can honestly say that my BS in Biology was well worth the investment. After I was accepted to the Washington State Veterinary School in Pullman, WA, I called one of the people on the interview board to ask about my score. She related to me that my grades at NNC and the difficulty of the classes there had caused me to be ranked as the top candidate from Idaho out of ten other students who were accepted. Now that I have class with the other ten talented and brilliant people, I realize just how strong they are and what an honor it was for me to be top ranked. The classes at NNC, the focus on research and the breadth of the liberal arts education all contributed to my score. To all of you who are looking at NNU, or who might be there already, I strongly encourage you to stick with it and do quality research."
