Hong Kong Field and Cultural Experience 2008
Several NNU students accompanied Dr Glena Andrews and Dr Julie Au to Hong Kong, June 28 - July 17, 2008. Below are some comments and pictures that help communicate their experiences.
COMMENTS:
"This trip made my summer. It not only gave me experience in my chosen field but also gave me an opportunity to define who I am and who I want to become.
The culture and the people were amazing. This trip gave me a look into someone else's life. It gave me the opportunity to look into my own life and what has been given to me. It made me really appreciate what I have and how much my family means to me!"
"Traveling to Hong Kong with the group from NNU was a once in a lifetime opportunity that was different that anything I've ever experienced before. It was amazing to make new connections and friendships with the people I met there. I think out group was able to represent our school, country, and faith well, and like most good trips of this kind, I received more than I could have given and learned so much more than I could have anticipated."
"I learned much more beyond our subjects including how two cultures and races can cohabit a community in such an amazing fashion. The way the students took us in was an experience I will hold forever."
"It was a wonderful glimpse into the daily lives of Hong Kong elderly. The individual interviews were especially helpful, as they shared their life stories of the culture."
