NNU Homecoming Walk/Run 2009
WHAT: There will be a 1-mile Fun Run/Walk that will be accessible to all ages and abilities, as well as a competitive 5k Race, which will be open to runners! There will be awards for the 1st and 2nd place finishers in the competitive race. The participants who raise either the highest dollar amount or collect the highest number of pledges in student. staff, faculty, and alumni/friend categories will also receive prizes.
WHY: As a part of annual Homecoming & Family Weekend activities, the Walk/Run will raise money for need-based scholarships which will be used to supplement financial aid packages at the discretion of each School of the University. The hope is that this supplemental aid will allow some students who may otherwise be forced to transfer or drop out to continue pursing their degrees so that they too can become NNU alumni. For every entry form received NNU will donate a dollar to a local community charity. This year we have selected Northwest Children's Home: Syringa House.
WHEN: The event will take place on Saturday, November 7th, 2009. The starting gun will go off at 1:00 pm, but participants are encouraged to arrive between 12:30 and 12:50 pm to get checked-in and pick up their t-shirts. Those who have not pre-registered need to plan on arriving at 12:30 pm to do so; unfortunately, we can only guarantee shirts to those who pre-register by Friday, October 16th, 2009.
WHERE: The event will start and end in front of the Johnson Sports Center, located on the NNU campus. The routes will be around campus and through the surrounding neighborhoods.

REMEMBER! You do not have to be attending Homecoming & Family Weekend activities or participating in the Walk/Run to collect pledges or make a donation to an NNU scholarship or our selected charity! You are more than welcome to simply send in your own contribution or those from the Donation Form, to the address below. Make sure you designate what scholarship you are supporting or write in "charity." When sending in collected pledges, please include the completed Sponsorship Collection Form. After the event, all raised funds will be distributed to the School or scholarship you designate. All contributions are tax-deductible. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns!
