Art Lounge
Relax in the Department of Art's newly renovated Lounge where students can curate small show of their own or their peers. There is also space to make coffee (or tea) and settle in for a study session. Smaller classes and the NNU Art Club gather in this area. You'll often find professors and students hanging out in this central spot.
Study Tours
What better way to learn about art and culture than to travel! London and Paris were the destinations of summer 2006. The Louvre, The National Gallery, and a day trip to Monet's home were a few of the sites we visited. In the summer of 2007 it was New York City, where students studied photography and art history.
Each fall the Contemporary Art History course travels to Portland or Seattle for a fun, art filled weekend.
Future trips may include Italy, Spain, and Los Angeles, which may fulfill a portion of NNU's cross-cultural experience requirement.
Art Retreat
Each year the Art Department hosts an art retreat. We try to plan this near the beginning of the school year so that we can get together, meet new people, and welcome old friends. Please plan to attend this even. It's a great way to begin out year together. The cost per person is approximately $25.
