About

The Art Department at NNU aims to provide students with fundamental experiences in the visual arts by developing visual awareness, the ability to make aesthetic judgments, and an appreciation for art forms in every-day life.

Courses are designed to study the art of historic and contemporary cultures, to provide opportunities to develop specialized skills, and to equip students to participate in a professional environment or to pursue further studies. The Art Program offers emphases in the areas of graphic design, art education, drawing and painting, and sculpture.

Degrees Offered

The Bachelor of Arts degree in Art is the professional undergraduate degree desired by serious students intent on pursuing careers or advanced degrees in the visual arts.

The B.A. in Art is designed to give art students flexibility by letting them to choose an emphasis of study -- design, studio art, and art education -- that is best suited to their academic and career goals.
