E-Learning Services
E-Learning Services, part of the School of Learning Resources, provides assistance to faculty, staff, and students to help maximize their online teaching and learning experience. We offer coaching in online course design as well as training for a variety of teaching applications used at NNU.
Our Mission Statement
The mission of E-Learning Services is to support the efforts of the NNU community to effectively use e-learning technologies in teaching and learning. We promote achievement of the institutional outcomes by encouraging the use of best practices in online education and providing excellent customer service.

ANGEL
ANGEL is the Learning Management System that Northwest Nazarene University uses to conduct fully online courses and to supplement face-to-face courses.

Streaming Media
A do-it-yourself station for creating streamed video and audio is available in Technology and Media Resources (Wiley Learning Center 119), or E-Learning TAs can take care of this for you at no charge.
Tk20
E-Learning Services provides training support for Tk20, a new assessment/ reporting tool being used by the Education and Counselor Education departments.
TurnItIn
NNU licenses this plagiarism-detection software to encourage academic integrity. Support and training materials are available for both faculty and students.
Web 2.0 Tools
More and more instructors are choosing to use blogs,wikis and podcasts to engage their students. NNU licenses Learning Objects Campus Pack to make this easy.
Other Technologies
E-Learning Services also provides assistance with a variety of other uses of technology, including the use of Microsoft Office, copyright and fair use issues, and the use of screen-capture software.

E-Learning Student Staff
E-Learning TAs are available to assist faculty and adjuncts with course development using ANGEL and other online technologies, such as:
- setting up the gradebook
- creating online tests
- preparing streamed media
- making course banners
- other projects both basic and complex

Technology and Media Resources
Our help desk is the department of Technology and Media Resources, which provides support to all employees and students regarding ANGEL courses and user accounts, NNU email, computer access, phones and other applications. Frank Estell is the executive director of TMR.
