
- What is the STEP program?
- The STEP program is an accelerated delivery program designed for adults age 23 and above.
- When are classes held?
- Cohort and General Education classes are held Monday - Thursday from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. in Nampa or Boise.
- Is the STEP program on a semester schedule?
- Yes, but typically each semester has 3 five week sessions.
- I cannot attend the first session, would it be possible to start the second or third session?
- Yes, you can start at the beginning of any session.
- How many credits do I need to enter the STEP program?
- You can begin with 0 credits and take general education classes until you have earned enough credits to enter a cohort.
- What is a Cohort?
- A Cohort consists of a group of people that go through the entire program together.
- How many credits do I need to enter a STEP cohort?
- What if I do not have 45-60 credits?
- You can enroll in our general education classes.
- How many credits do I need to graduate from the STEP program?
- A total of 124 credits are needed to graduate.
- What degree will I have after completing the STEP program?
- Bachelor of Business Administration
- How many weeks do classes last?
- Generally, you attend each class for 5 weeks. There are a few classes that are 7 or 10 weeks long.

- The program is already competitively priced and the program cost includes books, materials, and fees.
What STEPs do I need to take to get started in the program?
Individuals (age 23 and above) applying for admission to the STEP Program should complete the following:
- Submit an application online to the STEP Office. Alternatively, the application may be downloaded in PDF format and mailed to the STEP office, or request an application packet by contacting the STEP office at 208-467-8100 or 208-467-8447.
- Submit a non-refundable $40 application fee online by credit card, or by mail.
- Submit official transcripts of high school and ALL college work to:

- Submit two completed recommendation forms to the STEP office. The forms should be completed by professional contacts such as a supervisor, co-worker or pastor. The forms should NOT be completed by family members.
- If English is not applicant's native language, submit a minimum score of 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
Acceptance will be determined when the above are met AND the individual has:
- An overall grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 in all previous academic course work. (Individuals with a GPA of less than 2.0 may apply for provisional acceptance for one semester.)
Additional items needed for enrollment:
- Once accepted, pay the $150.00 (non-refundable) tuition deposit. This deposit reserves your place in a cohort or class and is applied to your tuition.
- If applying for financial aid, complet and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). NNU's school code is 00-1624.
- Submit NNU Financial Aid Application to the Financial Aid office, if applying for financial aid.
- Submit ACT/SAT scores (optional)
Enrolled students should:
- Register for classes by making an appointment with the STEP office.
- Complete Registration Form
- Complete Schedule of Courses Form.
- Pick up books for class.
- Books are typically distributed from 4:30p.m. – 5:50 p.m., Monday through Thursday, one to two weeks prior to the first night of class.
