Northwest Nazarene University
Northwest Nazarene University (NNU), a comprehensive university with a rich liberal arts tradition, is located in Nampa, Idaho. The university's location in the southwest part of the state allows easy access to local ski resorts, mountain hiking, and river rafting. The proximity to Boise, the state's capital, offers cultural amenities such as the Boise Philharmonic Orchestra, Boise Master Chorale, Opera Idaho, Ballet Idaho, Riverside Jazz Orchestra, and the Boise Art Museum. The university is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. NNU has been rated by U.S. News and World Report as one of the top master's level universities in the west. The university is affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene.

Department of Nursing
The Department of Nursing at NNU offers a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Nursing. The program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Nursing students are required to have a strong background in the arts and sciences before being admitted into the Nursing program. The nursing program consists of six semesters of nursing. 

Description of Position
The Department of Nursing is seeking to fill a full-time nursing faculty position to begin fall of 2008. The areas of focus are: Mental Health and Senior level Medical Surgical Nursing. Classroom and clinical teaching is required.

Qualifications
Preparation must be at least at the Master's level. All levels of rank will be considered. Strong candidates will possess proven abilities in the classroom at the baccalaureate level. Candidates need to be proficient in the clinical skills required for practice in these areas. Candidates are to have a high level of integrity, and personal responsibility must be verified. Candidates must demonstrate both written and verbal skills, effective interpersonal relationship skills, and evidence of leadership in the profession. The university requires that all candidates have a Christian perspective (preferably in the Wesleyan tradition), and must be comfortable with and in agreement with the mission and lifestyle values of NNU. Northwest Nazarene University embraces diversity and therefore encourages all who are qualified to apply.

Compensation
The salary will be determined by the educational background and experience of each applicant. Full-time faculty will be offered a generous benefits package including: health, dental, and vision insurance, long-term disability, tuition benefits, group life insurance and a flexible spending plan.
