Character education curriculum for elementary and secondary students. Participants in this course will understand the componenets of character education and be able to teach teh elementary or secondary curriculum to students. They will learn several instructional objectives including: learning how to teach integrity and high character.

To provide educators with practical strategies for managing stress in their personal and professional lives. This course will help educators to understand the physical, social and psychological aspects of stress; as well as, to learn time managment tools and stress management ideas.

This course examines the reasons that some students "drive teachers crazy." Common types of "crazy-makers" will be described and the techniques for coping with these students will be discussed. The goal is to provide educators with practical strategies for managing and interacting with difficult student personalities.

This is a course that requires the learner to discern the future of public education by using guides adopted by futurists. The course encourages students to reflect on current trends in society at large and public education specifically to create their individual view of the future of public education and how educators and educational institutions, including schools and higher education, must prepare for it intelligently.

Project learning tree (PLT) is an award-winning environmental education program designed for teachers and others working with school-aged youth. Class participants learn about trees and forests, and how to use the extensive PLT Activity Guide to help students meet academic standards. The aim to provide increased content knowledge about trees, forests and the total environment; understanding of the importance of teaching students how to think, rather than telling them what to think, about complex environmental issues; practical application of effective teaching skills; and the ability to use the PLT materials in the participant’s classroom or youth organization. The goal of Project WILD is to assist learners of any age in developing awareness, knowledge, skills and commitment to result in informed decisions, responsible behavior and constructive actions concerning wildlife and the environment on which all life depends. Instructional activities within the Project WILD materials are designed for easy integration into school subject and skill areas-especially science, social studies, language arts, mathematics and art-so that classroom teachers may use the materials as a means to teach required skills....at the same time teaching about people, wildlife and the environment.
