STUDENT APPEALS
Appeals may be initiated as follows:
1. If there is serious question in the mind of the student as to the fairness of the penalty, or if one has significant new evidence to present to the appeals body on one's own behalf, the decision may be appealed by giving notice of the appeal to the Office of Student Development within 24 hours of the original decision (except weekends).
The request for an appeal is not to be construed as a guarantee that the respective committee or board will:
a. Convene for a second review.
b. Rule differently the second time.
2. A decision of the ASNNU Judicial Board may be appealed to the Student Life Executive Committee.
3. Both original jurisdiction hearings and appeal hearings will follow college guidelines. These are not follow formal court procedures, and state and federal rules of procedure and laws do not apply. Students may not have legal counsel at any of the proceedings.
